Caramel Apple Martini Recipe

Fall is right around the corner, and although I will miss summer, fall isn’t so bad. It’s officially football season, playoff baseball is right around the corner, and all the fall beers are on tap. Did I mention my Birthday is in October? And last but not least, fall cocktails are now in season.

The caramel apple martini is like biting into a caramel apple. A slightly sweet apple martini enhanced with a caramel rim and apple cider. I made about a dozen of these for a Christmas Eve party a few years back. I can’t even tell you how or where I came up with the recipe but I can tell you they were flying off the shelves. Our family Christmas parties tend to get a little wild…

Okay, now I remember. This recipe was originally a more complex cocktail that evolved over the course of the night as I started to run out of alcohol. I started to eyeball, guess and wing it on the fly, of course. And guess what? No one even noticed the difference. So it either rings true that simpler is always better or everyone was too buzzed to taste the difference anyway. Or maybe a combination of the two? In all honestly, I think there is a tipping point with every cocktail—more is not always better. You can only detect so many flavors.

After some serious trial and error I was able to recreate and perfect and simple caramel apple martini. The only thing you need now are some leaves.
